On May 11th, 2009, the fourth National Special Education Conference was held by Ministry of Education, Ministry of Civil Affairs and China Disabled Persons’ Federation in Beijing. Member of Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and State Councilor, Liu Yandong, Vice President of National Political Consultative Conference, Deng Pufang attended the conference and delivered important speeches. The conference was hosted by Minister of Ministry of Education, Zhou Ji. Hangzhou School for the Deaf, as the only representative of national special educational schools, introduced their experiences of running school with the title of “training for diasbled but efficient labors”.
Jiang Chunying, principal of Hangzhou School for the Deaf, delivered a speech and introduced how they continuously improve their school standards and school effectiveness under the guidance of their educational objectives “All serve for the healthy growth of students ” and the care of leaders at all levels. The speech contains “advanced facilities serve for the growth of students”, “ diligent teachers serve for the growth of students” and “scientific management serves for the growth of students ”, and it will be published at China Education Daily on May 12th, 2009.
In recen years, Hangzhou School for the Deaf takes the chance of school relocation to focus on building the quality special education. 100% children graduating from our junior middle school went up to senior middle schools, and the college admission rate for our high school graduates has reached 91%. What’s more, 150 students of our school have won great prizes in contests of all levels and forms, which include 5 vocational education outcomes winning nationwide first prize, 3 nationally honored art education outcomes, and 6 person-time golden, silver and bronze medals in national athletic competitions. Since our inception 78 years ago, our school has prepared to society a great number of disabled but efficient labors earning their own livings, some of whom are dress designers, civil servants, teachers, etc. and some of whom are deputies to the People’s Congress, members of the National Committee of CPPCC, working models, etc. Hangzhou School for the Deaf was praised by Ministry of Education, Ministry of Civil Affairs and China Disabled Persons’ Federation for their outstanding contribution on special education and disabled undertakings and was awarded “National Advanced Units of Special Education”.Jiang Chunying, principal of Hangzhou School for the Deaf, received the golden medal as the school representatives. | |
