On September 9th, 2009, Teacher’s Day celebration-cum-national education system advanced collectives and individuals in recognition of the General Assembly held by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in Beijing’s Great Hall. Hangzhou School for the Deaf was awarded the honorary title of“National Education System Advanced Collectives”. Jiang Chunying, principal of Hangzhou School for the Deaf, Participated the conference as the representatives of ZheJiang Province. She was also cordially received by CPC Central Committee General Secretary, State President and CMC Chairman Hu Jintao, CPC Central Committee Political Bureau Standing Committee, Premier Wen Jiabao, CPC Central Committee Political Bureau Standing Committee member Li Changchun and CPC Central Committee Political Bureau Standing Committee, CPC Central Committee and Vice-President Xi Jinping.
In May 2009, Hangzhou School for the Deaf was awarded the honorary title of “National Special Education System Advanced Collectives” by Ministry of Education, Ministry of Civil Affairs and China Disabled Persons’ Federation. And in september 2009, the school was awarded another honorary title of “National Education System Advanced Collectives”. It is the only representative of special educational schools who was awarded these two prizes in ZheJiang province. These prizes are not only the affirmation of its educational achievement, but also the spur of its school work. Hangzhou School for the Deaf will continue to work towards its educational goal of "to be the leading position in province and the first-class school for deaf in our contry"and will strive to make new contributions on promoting the development of special education.
